Job Descriptions


  • Lead LKCSB Postgraduate (PG) programme strategy, planning and operations for a portfolio of 14 programmes while being a good steward of SMU & LKCSB’s resources and reputation.
  • Lead and manage LKCSB PG Programme portfolio to enhance internal and external impact, operational efficiencies, and marketability and support school’s strategic goals.
  • Lead LKCSB PG 2020 initiatives, including digital innovations, global immersion experiences for students, alumni relations, internationalization of careers support and portfolio redesign.
  • Manage team of 50+ professionals. Set appropriate performance objectives and measures, identify and support training and develop initiatives to enable programme goals and individual career development goal and provide feedback and guidance to meet organization and individual goals.
  • Create and deliver an exceptional and transformational student experience contributing to a high level of student satisfaction including, but not limited to:
    • An impactful onboarding/orientation experience;
    • A vibrant co-curricular and extra-curricular offering for LKCSB PG students,
    • Programme delivery teams developed and supported to deliver the desired student experience.
  • Oversee the SMU PG Career Services organization to deliver a positive student experience and career outcomes that support student and programme goals:
    • Lead PGCS efforts to support home-country job searches;
    • Lead PGCS international career support strategy, focused primarily on ASEAN regions,
    • Support CS efforts for PG Programmes in SOE, SOA, SIS, and others as requested.
  • Oversee and provide support for budgeting and financial administration of programmes to support LKCSB objectives.
  • Ensure close coordination and collaboration with PG Associate Deans and PG Programme Directors to support a well-coordinated programme experience across the complete portfolio for students, faculty and support groups.
  • In coordination with LKCSB Programmes Deputy Dean, lead PG Programme Committee meeting planning and execution:
    • Plan, oversee and administer PG Programme review process,
    • Plan and support administering of annual Programme AOL process.
  • Lead efforts and initiatives for SMU-internal support group coordination across areas such as the Offices of Postgraduate Professional Programmes (PGPP), Finance, Integrated Information Technology Services (IITS), Registrar, Alumni, SMU Executive Development, and Provost.
  • Engage alumni and external stakeholders in collaboration with SMU Offices of Alumni, Advancement, ExDev and others to support PG, LKCSB and SMU.
  • Support the school as needed with accreditation, rankings and other review and measurements.
  • Support LKCSB PG Recruiting and Admissions as needed to promote programmes and meet enrollment and quality targets.
  • Support LKCSB and SMU leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives to enhance and further the mission of LKCSB and SMU.
  • Develop and support digital innovation strategy across PG programmes in collaboration with the Deputy Dean and Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE).
  • Strategic involvement and responsibility for the planned creation of a Graduate School of Management, in close collaboration with the Dean and Deputy Dean.


  • Postgraduate Degree (MBA or Business PG Degree preferred) with at least 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional experience in higher education
  • Student engagement experience in a higher education environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Able to analyze data, quantify results and manage budget/Profit & Loss.
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak to large crowds.
  • Ability to build relationships and interact well with faculty, staff, students, alumni, corporate sponsors, and external partners.
  • Desire and ability to work in an environment geared toward collaboration and teamwork. Able to both work independently and as a team player.
  • Professional presence and demeanor.
  • Able to travel.
  • Good knowledge, comfort and ability with standard office technology (MS Office, Internet, Intranet tools).
