The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for the complete sales delivery of services offered by the Talent2’s Payroll Division. The BDM will develop a deep understanding of sales operations and the underlying sales functionalities to deliver services, and will utilise this knowledge and their communication skills to support the presentation of the company’s profile and services for new and existing clients and to achieve the underlying sales targets.
The BDM will build strong working relationships across the Payroll team necessary to ensure effective communication and understanding of business operations and costs. In addition to supporting the technical consultant team to deliver the services scope of work and system demonstrations to prospects and existing clients, the BDM will also work closely with the Manager of Asia to deliver sales reports and monitor sales pipeline and forecasts.
The BDM is expected to identify and bring the appropriate attention to risks and opportunities for continuous improvement. It is imperative this person has a thorough commercial knowledge of the payroll services within the division, and the capability to disseminate this knowledge to potential clients during sales proposal stage.
Responsible for business development in target segments and meeting targets set.
Responsible for lead generation process.
Provide for development and implementation of business opportunities that leverage existing solution offerings.
Perform market assessments and financial analysis of competitive vendors including identification and building strategic partnerships with appropriate business partners.
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
Support review and preparation of commercial and legal documents, in particular areas that have financial impact or expose Talent2 to commercial risk.
Negotiate financial and commercial aspects of contract documents to achieve closure on business opportunities identified.
Collaborate with other functional groups within the organisation to evaluate project performance and recommend improvements of all components of business proposals.
Contribute to business development strategy development and implementation of that strategy to meet overall corporate goals.
Develop and interpret financial models for business development opportunities identified.
Track and report on status of all proposal components; work with the Payroll Leadership team to monitor and report sales pipeline and forecasts.
Deliver ad-hoc market analysis, as required, to assist potential clients with their costs analysis when making decision on BPO services.
Initiative discussions within internal Payroll team to drive continuous operational efficiency improvement.
3 -5 years sales and business development experience. Experience in BPO – HR/Payroll industry preferred.
Experience working across multiple cultures with proven ability to communicate effectively and act proactively in a consultative business environment.
Proven track record with sales targets achievement.
A proven understanding of HR/Payroll Systems Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) preferred.
Appropriate tertiary and professional qualifications with proficiency in word processing; presentation; database; email and online software.
Ability to build effective relationships both internally within the organisation and with external business partners and clients. Outstanding relationship management capabilities with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Confident and positive with presentation skills with ability in influencing and managing expectations at a number of levels. Confident in dealing with strong personalities.
Flexible, positive thinking, with advanced problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task effectively, having strong desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline, targets driven environment.
