Job Descriptions


  • Project Management:
    • Responsible for the successfully delivery of a Net Zero Energy (NZE) Building in SMU, with the following responsibilities:
      • Check, verify and ensure that all M&E equipment proposed by the contractors meet the technical requirements/specifications.
      • Closely monitor and follow through the installations of all energy systems for the NZE building.
      • Ensure proper and thorough T&C of all energy systems in the NZE building.
    • Assist Senior Manager in the development of energy smart solutions for the NZE building:
      • Conceptualize, design, configure, integrate and implement process control, equipment & building automation solutions.
      • Drive energy smart solution to integrate with data connectivity and analysis.
      • Manage the installations of energy smart system for the NZE building.
  • Energy and Building Management:
    • The energy manager will work as the building manager for the NZE Building, upon completion of the project, with the following responsibilities:
      • Oversee and manage building services at the NZE building.
      • Monitor and track the daily energy production by the solar Photo Voltaic power system.
      • Monitor and track the daily energy use by different areas/systems in the NZE building.
      • Monitor the daily activities in the NZE building.
      • Generate weekly/monthly energy reports for the NZE building.
      • Engage stakeholders in the building for energy improvement/saving initiatives activities/alert stakeholder on area of energy wastage.
      • Monitor the operation and maintenance of the energy systems in the NZE building, ensuing good working condition at all time.
    • Implement energy management programs to reduce operation costs.
    • Plan, organize and execute energy improvement and saving initiatives to increase the efficiency of the plant utilities and facilities systems
    • Perform data analysis, identify saving potentials and make sound recommendations and proposals.
    • Prepare necessary documents to assist various internal/eternal audits related to energy and environmental matters such as electricity, gas, GHG, water & wastewater, etc.
    • Liaise with Government bodies and prepare necessary documents/reports for submission.
    • Work with cross functional departments to develop operational plans that meet energy conservation goals.


  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferably in automation/electronic/electrical/mechanical engineering; certified SCEM (professional)/GMM, with relevant working experience in energy management.
  • Good understanding of building automation system.
  • Relevant experience in energy smart building environment, experience in automation will be an advantage.
  • Expereince in managing large scale building M&E system projects from system design, implementation to full completion would be an added advantage.
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced enviornment.
  • Responsible and able to multi-task.
  • Able to work independently, positive working attitude and possess team spirit.
  • Sound knowledge of Autocad Software/MS office/MS project management.
  • Knowledge in BIM will be an advantage.
