JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Work closely with the Director, DKHMCC to contribute to and support the strategic agenda of DKHMCC.
    • Work with DKHMCC teams to advance the strategic direction with policies, processes and operational decision-making that are consistent.
    • Plan and execute department’s annual work plan retreat and calibrate work plan submissions to Senior Management for tracking of KPIs.
  • Planning and Evaluation of programmes:
    • Plan curriculum of Finishing Touch programme and ad-hoc workshops to ensure learning outcomes are achieved.
    • Review current literature and conduct regular landscape scans (including employment trends and policies and best practices in career services) to ensure that the DKHMCC programmes remain relevant in producing employment-ready graduates.
    • Engage stakeholders (e.g. students, employers, advisory council) to ensure DKHMCC programmes constantly evolve to meet changing needs.
    • Evaluate effectiveness of Finishing Touch programme and instructors in delivering student learning outcomes.
    • Work closely with Director, DKHMCC and Dean of Students to continually strengthen internship programme and design learning activities pre-, during- and post-internship to complement on-the-job learning.
  • Department / University-Wide Projects and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders to support university events and marketing initiatives for admissions efforts.
    • Establish increased platforms for alumni engagement at DKHMCC to support the career services needs of the undergraduate student body.
    • Engage student representatives from SMU Student Association (SMUSA), student clubs and societies, international students and collect student feedback via annual SMUSA Survey.
    • Attend all academic majors information sessions, and to contribute to the annual editing of the Academic Majors and Career Pathway Guide.
    • Coordinate engagement of Advisory Council.
    • Serve as liaison person for media queries and follow up.
    • Participate on ad hoc projects as assigned by Director, DKHMCC.
  • Career Coaching:
    • Provide one-on-one consultation and assessment sessions for students under portfolio.
    • Coordinate Employability Initiatives and conduct career services clinics and/or resume rescues.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in any discipline.
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience, including experience in leading operations.
  • Basic counselling knowledge and skills.
  • 2-3 years account management/business development experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good presentation skills - able to make clear presentation of internship program to senior management of organizations and students.
  • IT skills - proficient in Microsoft Office software (MSWord, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Access).
  • Training/HR experience preferred.
  • Accredited to administer personality inventories such as MAPP, DISC, MBTI, Career Leader, Strong’s Interest Inventory.
