Job Descriptions

Reports to: Managing Director

Job purpose:

  • Develop and communicate the overall vision for the factory with providing strategic leadership to ensure financial and operational goals are met.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop the vision and strategy for the factory and drive the related initiatives & actions to achieve goals
  • Lead in business improvement efforts through the vigorous application of lean principles & tools
  • Lead in the attainment of operational goals in Quality, Productivity, On-Time Delivery, Inventory Turns, Safety and Technological Capabilities
  • Work with factory team and parties concerned in meeting Financial goals in Cost (Gross Margin and Expenditure)
  • Proactively identify barriers and challenges that could negatively impact the operations and implement effective solutions to minimize impact
  • Support all growth and strategic initiatives for the business including new product and project launches
  • Communicate company priorities and initiatives to the factory employees using daily, weekly or monthly scheduled meetings
  • Promote the development of a customer-focused culture that engages all staff through communication, priority setting and leading by example
  • Promotes harmonious working relationship with all employees through training of first line supervision in effective supervisory techniques, expedient and equitable resolution of issues, and continual communication with the workforce
  • Eliminate waste throughout the manufacturing operations through implementation of Lean tools and processes
  • Ensure proper collection and reporting of data necessary to identify root causes of issues, and support problem-solving efforts
  • Promote and drive a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement
  • Lead the factory team in achieving the short term and long term goals set
  • Ensure the factory is properly equipped with the infrastructure, capital asset and staff essential to achieving the short and long-term goals of the company
  • Attain optimization of equipment with managing the equipment and production capacity and utilization
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees through implementation and maintenance of safety programs, compliance with regulatory
  • Develop annual budget for factory and ensure proper reporting of data necessary to track the performance of the manufacturing operation against budget
  • Be the primary point of contact for significant concerns or communications related to the factory


  • Minimum educational requirement of a diploma in Management Studies or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in similar position of Factory Manager
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in managing a team of managers, engineers, technicians and inspectors
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in managerial role in a manufacturing and assembly environment
  • Good working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with plastic injection molding is preferred
  • Experience in a strong lean environment required
  • Good written can oral communication skills in English
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
