AGD is a department under the Ministry of Finance (MOF). The Department supports the Accountant-General in fulfilling her statutory duties under the Constitution, the Financial Procedures Act and other legislative statues. It also works in close cooperation with MOF and public sector agencies to raise the quality of financial administration in the Public Sector.
Responsibilities
You could be deployed to different branches including:
Financial & Management Reporting:
Prepare the Government’s Financial Statements and other related accounting reports
Perform reconciliations of accounting records
Maintain the general ledger of the Government
Prepare financial reports for management
Financial Administration & Control:
Administer and develop central financial, payroll and pensions systems
Design, review and implement policies and controls to improve organisational processes and to ensure integrity of the central systems
Serve as primary contact for users of the central systems
Oversee the information technology policies and requirements of the department
Requirements
Diploma from a local polytechnic, preferably in Accounting, Finance and Information Technology or Nitec and Higher Nitec education
Preferably with at least 2 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance and Information Technology. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Prior experience in providing helpdesk support is an added advantage.
Able to multi-task, work independently as well as a team player
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
