Essential Functions (First task listed should be the most important or time-consuming one, and so on) Generating Monthly Payroll
Determine time worked through verification of (authorized) time sheets.
Calculate payroll. This includes deductions of cash advances taken as well as monthly allotment amounts requested by the employees.
For Malaysian Officers and Ratings, to liaise with malaysian office for tax computations, EPF and SOCSO(Social Security)
Post payroll data on payroll sheets, detailing relevant information (name, days worked, wage rate, deductions etc.)
Computing Balance of Wages for Off-signing Local Officers and Ratings.
Pay Slips & Leave Letters
Generating monthly pay slips and e-mailing soft copies to the respective Officers and Ratings via their respective SPOSHIP email id.
For MCCL Officers – mailing of Leave Letters, Pay slips and HSBC transaction details each month. Ditto for MCCL Ratings except for Leave Letters.
For Local (Malaysian/Indonesian/Indian/Sri Lankans) Officers and Ratings, sending out monthly UCF (Universal Crew Form) via email to the respective employees.
Other Essential functions
Accruing Pension Fund allocated to Merit Ocean Crewing Company (MCCL) Officers and Ratings at the rate of USD50 per month’s service onboard the vessel – or prorated thereof.
Maintaining updated records of aforementioned Pension Fund accruals.
Preparing Monthly Payroll Coding for MCCL to submit to Finance Department.
Receiving payroll queries from Officers and either replying directly or refer to appropriate staff as applicable.
Records Keeping and Filing.
Computing (annual) service records for calculation of Merit Bonus payable to the employees.
Preparing Bonus Letters (As applicable).
Arranging special allotments (As necessary).
Arranging reimbursement of expenses (Training costs, studies, misc etc.)
Arranging Payment to Officers and Ratings for attended days on Company’s Internal Course/Training. ( Not applicable for Statutory Training).
REQUIREMENTS :
Skills: Good Interpersonal Skills, Analytical & Time Management.
Experience: At least 1 year in a relevant field and industry. Familiar with CODA preferred. Suitably experienced candidate will be given senior role.
Qualification: Diploma holder (preferably in Accounting & Finance discipline)
