Our client is in the retail industry and they are looking for someone to head the IT function in Asia. This role reports directly to the CFO, will handle a team and with the official title IT Manager - Asia.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP Finance and Business Planning Asia, the IT Manager – Asia leads the technology team in the execution of IT strategy to support of our r expansion and improvement plans. The role provides IT direction, support and services, fosters knowledge & best practice sharing and oversees compliance oof policies and procedures in this dynamic region.
Key areas of responsibility includes IT infrastructure, applications, service delivery and technology enhancement. The successful candidate will work closely with the Asia regional team and business units while collaborating with international IT teams in ensuring a cohesive global IT strategy.
Communicate and implement IT strategy and policies for region.
Lead Asian countries IT team in the recommendation, implementation and maintenance of IT systems to support business needs.
Support development & expansion plan by working closeely with Asia development team and other international divisions on tenders and roll-out of platforms.
Drive improvement through innovation and use of technology to enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Evaluate, propose and manage innovative solutions with technical feasibility, risk assessment and cost e effectiveness studies.
Review and monitor performance of current systems and processses. Implement changes to enhance end-to-end processes.
Define and direct Asia infrastructure & applications technology standards and deployment architecture, including hardware and software. Implement governance and enforcement programs. Provide leadership in pproject planning and execution.
Prepare and manage business case, budget and approval on IT projects.
Coordinate and negotiate with regional, international IT team ms and external partners on technical designs and implementation plan on applications, network, server, middleware tools, storage and software to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
Collaborate with international IT teams to ensure cohesive global IT strategy.
Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
5-8 years in the IT profession, including 3+ years in IT Infrastructure & Applications architecture and/or integration.
Superior written and oral communication skills, evidenced by the ability to communication across all levels of the organization.
Strong project management skills and experience in small to mid-size infrastructure projects.
Project management certification an asset.
Experience in negotiation and working with external consultants and vendors.
Experience in emerging market, independent worker with good judgment and prioritization.
Enjoys team-based approach and development of collaborative environment.
Knowledge of SAP, NA AV and ITIL process a plus.
