Job Descriptions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to support & drive reliability improvement strategy.
  • Proactively analyze plant reliability & downtime data to identify current & potential defects working in collaboration with Maintenance & Utilities Operations, Quality, Technology & Manufacturing.
  • Optimize the application of preventive and predictive maintenance in order to achieve the right maintenance strategy & techniques for our manufacturing process equipment & site utility systems without compromising safety or compliance.
  • Apply predictive Maintenance (PdM) methods such as oil analysis, thermography, vibration analysis, etc.
  • Manage and own the equipment criticality and risk ranking process.
  • Utilize reliability tools, equipment historical data, predictive technologies, and industry best practices to determine and implement optimum equipment performance, maintenance strategies, and work processes. This includes equipment definition/hierarchy, criticality of equipment, maintenance strategy development, and spare parts.
  • Resolve and present reliability defects by removing validated root causes and verifying effectiveness of solutions.
  • Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on process and utility equipment and systems.
  • Identify trends and make recommendations based on data.
  • Report findings, make recommendations and escalate to proper levels.
  • Prioritize findings on data and communicate findings on a routine basis to management & key stakeholders.
  • Communicate reliability program efforts within the organization & provide oversight & administer the plant metrology program.
  • Optimize performance (reliability, maintainability & availability) of our systems and cost effectiveness of reliability programs. This includes application of condition based preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Analyze routine maintenance practices and assist to initiate and implement maintenance process changes that increase equipment and system uptime.
  • Prioritize and document system reliability issues and make equipment design change recommendations including evaluating and reporting the cost benefit of changes to improve reliability.
  • Assist with new equipment purchase specifications, purchase decisions and installation qualification criteria.
  • Provide support and input for the Asset Management Strategy.
  • Support a strong Engineering and Maintenance Safety Culture that encourages taking the right amount of time to perform each task safely.
  • Interact with client groups, service providers, existing maintenance management, and Roche Network functions to leverage and optimize maintenance support resources, programs and practices.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering with strong background in operation & maintenance of production & utilities systems.
  • At least 3-5 years preferably in manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering. Biopharmaceutical production facility a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Reliability Management systems with experience in application & analysis of various Predictive Maintenance methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply experience and hands-on mechanical skills to investigate system deficiencies (design, operational and maintenance related).
  • Working knowledge of cGMP concepts and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with SAP CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) desired.
  • Knowledge & application of FMEA, RCA, 5S, Lean Six Sigma, methodologies preferred.
  • Demonstrated good organizational and time utilization skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, results driven and self-directed while remaining a strong team player.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to challenge the system to affect an environment of continual improvement.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
