Responsibilities

As a Product Specialist in SPH Digital Division, you will be responsible in trying out proof of concepts with new business ideas, acting as a bridge between business and developers. You will define business models, business value, plan & execute product initiatives that would bring value to SPH’s stable of products.

In order to succeed, you must be able to think out of the box, be adaptable, be entrepreneurial and be hungry enough to see your product initiatives into fruition. Innovative thinking and curiosity is a must.

What you should be doing here:

  • Scan the digital landscape with a keen eye on innovation and thinking and identify business opportunities.

  • Test business concepts with sound reasoning by means of user discovery

  • Translate user feedback into test cases that could be built with a Minimal Viable Product (MVP)

  • Able to work with software developers (who are mostly friendly people)

  • Able to engage stakeholders internally and externally at all levels

  • Be able to own a Product Backlog and be a competent Product Owner in the Agile software development framework

  • Analytics dashboards and tools are your best friends. You religiously keep tabs on them.

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Business would be good. But any other discipline is not frowned upon

  • 3-5 years worth of experience working in the digital industry, plus points if you’ve tested new product initiatives

  • Innovative tinkerer and is naturally curious about why things are done in any particular way, and if there’s a better way in doing it

  • Huge plus points if you’ve started any product initiatives or have worked in a start up

  • Confident in speaking to just about anyone

  • Knows digital marketing
