Translator (Lianhe Zaobao)


The Job

  • Translate commentaries, opinion pieces and speech transcripts from English to Chinese
  • Translate government agencies' responses to readers' submissions into Chinese
  • Draft speeches in English for senior management on an occasional basis



Requirements

  • Fluent in both English and Chinese, and adept at writing in the Chinese Language
  • Degree
  • Interested in reading materials written in the Chinese Language
  • Interested in current affairs
  • Internet savvy
  • Sensitive to international and regional happenings
  • Ability to work shift (working hours are typically from 1pm to 9pm)
  • Preferably with experience in news-related fields
