About Our Client

Job Description

The Technical Superintendent has the authority to ensure that the adequate supplies, maintenance and repairs to the vessel in charge within the agreed budget.

-Continual monitoring and control of vessel’s mechanical and fabric maintenance

-Administration of vessel’s PMS data

-Monitoring of vessel’s performance and initiation of any actions necessary to rectify any defects and/or deficiencies

-Organization and control of any necessary voyage / damage repairs - assessment of damage and preparation of damage claims

-Liaison with Underwriter’s and Class Surveyors

-Preparation of work specifications, analysis of repair yards (dry-dock) tenders, selection of repair yards in consultation with General Manager of Technical Dept. and Owners, on-site supervision of repair dry-dock work, approval of work done, negotiation and approval of invoices in consultation with General Manager of Technical Dept. and Owner

-Monitoring of ship’s consumables / spares inventory, vetting and approval of ship’s stores and spare parts requisitions including allocation of category coding, follow-up of order status with Purchasing Department

-Classification and Statutory requirements - In conjunction with Marine Superintendent ensuring vessel is maintained in Class and in compliance with all statutory requirements and that all ship’s Certificates for vessel under his control are retained in the Office

-Inspecting and reporting on vessel’s condition, performance, operational and safety standards and crew performance and capability - in conjunction with ship’s Marine Superintendent, reviewing of vessel’s Log books and Voyage Abstracts

-Periodically visit assigned vessels, carry out onboard safety inspections and rectify all defects raised by Shipboard Management Team, Company Superintendents or relevant Third Party Inspections

-In liaison with Company Superintendent interviewing potential candidates for employment onboard assigned vessels (Engine Department) or briefing them in management Office

-In conjunction with other Ship Support Team members, regularly update “Company’s SPI / KPI / PI Matrix” for assigned vessels

-Preparing vessel’s technical budget, monitoring operating costs and explaining any variances

-Any other duties which the General Manager of Technical Dept. may require to be carried out

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:

-Expertise on ship management (chemical and oil tankers)

-More than 10 years of experience in Shipping and Maritime

-At least 6 years sea going/sailing as 3rd Engineer on LNG/LPG chemical tanker

-Minimum 4 years experience as Ship Repair and Service Engineer in charge of all ship repair, service and safety on assigned ships

-Ex-sailor or Senior Technical Officer on Ocean going tankers can apply

-ISO 9001:2008: Internal Auditor certified
