There is now more than just a good lunch to keep workers downstairs at Raffles Place: Old-fashioned swings, see-saws and a merry-go-round have gone up in the middle of the busy square as part of a campaign to commemorate 50 years of greening Singapore.

The roving installation, unveiled by the National Parks Board yesterday, will remain until May 19 before moving on.

It was designed to help people recapture the joy of playing in parks as children - just as long as they remember to get back to work on time.
