Asiapac Bio (APB), a biomedical consulting firm, has launched a new online portal that targets local and overseas business users in the medtech industry.
The Singapore Medtech Portal features business and industry information as well as a comprehensive online directory of medtech companies. The free-to-use portal provides updated data on Singapore's medtech industry that will be useful to overseas players who want to establish operations here. It will also help local companies to reach out to potential local and overseas customers.
"From the perspective of a Singapore SME, this new portal is a practical way for us to reach out to the global market," Tan Kae Yuan, chief executive of REKA Health, a medtech firm that develops interactive health technology solutions, said.
Singapore's medtech sector almost tripled its total output over the past decade to $4.3 billion last year. Kevin Lai, director of Biomedical Sciences Group at Singapore Economic Development Board, said: "This robust growth is supported by an ecosystem of homegrown start-ups, clinical and research institutions, as well as leading multinational corporations.
Samantha Su, Spring Singapore director of services and biomedical, said: "To stay ahead of the competition in the biomedical scene, it is imperative for our local enterprises to continuously enhance their business capabilities and devise clear market development strategies for growth, apart from strengthening their technical expertise."
