The third annual BakeOFF for Charity sale, which helps a different cause every year, will raise funds for the animal welfare group Three Legs Good this Sunday.
Organiser and illustrator Ly Yeow, 26, said she wanted to help dogs and the charity stood out to her as being "very different".
A video on the group's website featuring a three-legged dog running like any of its four-legged pals even brought tears to her eyes.
"For disabled dogs like that we don't have enough resources for them," said Ms Yeow.
The part-time art teacher and her team hope to raise about $10,000 for the disabled animals, which are placed in foster homes to recuperate and await adoption after being rescued.
Visitors to Sunday's sale can expect treats ranging from sweet delicacies like Earl Grey macarons and apple rose tarts to savoury dishes such as shepherd's pie and more exotic choices like Sweet Potato Pandan Cake.
Customers must make a $20 donation at the door in exchange for a voucher worth 20 bake points that can be used to redeem the goodies. Prices range from two bake points for a macaron to up to seven for a slice of cake.
Money will also be raised through the sale of T-shirts and artwork from local illustrators.
Supporting partners such as Merely Ice Cream will make donations, with the parlour giving 100 per cent of its Dec 21 sales to the cause.
Funds raised will go mainly into offsetting hefty medical bills from surgery that injured dogs have to undergo, such as amputation and hospitalisation costs, said writer Lillian Wang, 40, founder of the year-old charity.
A typical surgery bill can run into thousands of dollars.
Excess funds, if any, will be channelled to other aspects of animal welfare like flea and tick treatment, medication and mobility carts.
"We organise our own fundraising events so we know how much work, time and effort it takes," said Ms Wang. "We're very appreciative that the organisers of BakeOFF wanted to help and support us."
BakeOFF for Charity will be held this Sunday from noon to 4pm at 3 Jalan Ketek, a short walk from Bugis MRT station.
Previous good causes to benefit from the BakeOFF include a summer camp for children in Mongolia and the Cat Welfare Society.
