What is a typical day at work like?
Over 90 per cent of my time is spent engaging members of the public. I give public educational talks to introduce people to the Active Health initiative and get them on board the programme.
I also help people within the programme to reach their fitness goals by conducting workshops and clinics.
How does Active Health help Singaporeans lead healthier lives?
It encourages Singaporeans to stay fit and address potential health issues before they become more serious.
Through a variety of assessments, individuals can gain a better idea of their body condition, such as cardio-respiratory fitness, total body strength, and any imbalances in their limbs.
Our Active Health experts will then work with them to identify ways to increase their fitness and well-being.
What motivates you at work?
I recently did a check-in session with a couple whom I introduced to the programme six months ago. By comparing their before and after body measurements, and hearing about the changes to their lifestyle since starting the programme, I saw how much it had helped them lead healthier and more meaningful lives.
Seeing positive progress in the people I work with excites me. It makes my work purposeful and keeps me motivated to become better at what I do.
