What Kinds of Jobs are Suitable For You?

With the variety of jobs that are being offered today – with even more in tow in years to come - , one finds himself spoilt for choice. Perhaps you have shortlisted five varying job positions in different companies, or you only have that one dream job in mind. Either way, it doesn’t hurt to give this a read to either reaffirm, or reconsider your career choices.

A small disclaimer before we begin: do take what you read below with a pinch of salt! What is written here is by no means absolute or completely accurate.

As we are all aware, there are tons of personality tests out there on the internet. Be it Myer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or DISC profiling, we have heard it all. I will be basing this article against the IDENTI3 profiling test that you can take for free here! The IDENTI3 profiling works slightly differently from the two that I have mentioned above – it is a psychometric test that focuses more on the way you work, rather than your personal life.

If you are a NETWORKER,

It generally means that you are outgoing, approachable and friendly! In this case, it sounds like you would rather go out and mix around with a crowd instead of sitting behind a desk all day staring at numbers. Being in sales or perhaps something like direct marketing may be suitable for you as there is human interaction, and you can turn on your charms.

If you are a CARER,

It means you are kind, charitable and supportive! You would love to help out whenever you can as long as it is within your means. In this case, perhaps you may like to consider being a social worker, or helping out in the healthcare sector!

If you are an EXPOSITOR,

Apart from being expressive and persuasive, you are also great at presenting or teaching. Perhaps your calling would be being a teacher, as you will be able to put your presentation skills to use! If that doesn’t seem like it’s right up your alley, you may consider working as a lawyer or an insurance sales agent.

If you are a PERFECTIONIST,

You are meticulous, observant, and you tend to have high expectations of yourself. Being a perfectionist is not a bad thing! The quality of your work is almost assured and careless mistakes are less likely to be committed. Hence, you may consider working as an accountant or a secretary, as your traits are highly sought after in these jobs.

If you are an ORGANISER,

Being organised, systematic and equipped with clarity makes you the best candidate for planning events. You will be able to come up with a good timeline and appropriate deadlines, making the event a huge success. Alternatively, you can also consider jobs like media planning and buying, where you allocate cost over a period of time for campaigns.

If you are a CRAFTSMAN,

You like toiling and producing. Moreover, you’re also diligent! Jobs in the engineering sector seem fitting for you, as you will be able to see a culmination of your efforts in a product. Other jobs such as video production can also be considered, as you will be using your skills to the fullest.

If you are an INVESTIGATOR,

You enjoy thinking, inventing and solving. Constantly engaging your brain power is something that you want to do – in this case, being an analyst seems right up your street. Other jobs like risk management and banking also tap on your intellect, and may be suitable for you!

If you are an ARTIST,

You are the most creative, flexible and adaptable out of the lot. If you enjoy working with computers, being a graphic designer may be your dream job! You will be able to come up with original and unique designs on the daily, and let your creative juices flow. On the other hand, you can also tap into the marketing division and come up with creative marketing strategies and collaterals.
