Job Description

The Bodyguard (BG) is responsible in the execution of protective security operations for the U.S. Ambassador/Chief of Mission (COM), and other designated or visiting U.S. government officials as directed. Under the supervision of the Bodyguard Supervisor and managed by the Regional Security Officer (RSO) to U.S. Embassy Singapore, this position protects the designated official from harm and embarrassment. 

Job Requirements

  • Completion of high school or secondary school is required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a commercial bodyguard, civilian or host government police or military is required.
  • A valid Security Officer (SO) license issued by the Singapore Police Force (SPF), Police Licensing & Regulatory Department (PLRD) is required.
  • Must have a valid Singapore issued Class 3 driver’s license. Must be able to obtain Singapore issued Class 4 driver’s license within 12 months from date of employment.
  • Good working knowledge in English Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
  • Good working computer skills are required.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts and on 24 hour on-call schedule.
  • Must hold a valid passport and be able to travel out of Singapore for training as needed.
