Job Description

This position works under the direct supervision of the Senior Commercial Officer and supervises one office’s driver cum clerk.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform all budgeting, procurement, and other administrative duties for the Commercial Service (CS) Singapore and the ASEAN SelectUSA program budget, provide budget and administrative advisor to the U.S. Commercial Service office in Myanmar (CS Burma) and is a subject matter expert trainer for the ASEAN region.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to the Senior Commercial Officer (SCO) for strategic planning of resource needs, developing short term reports and long term (multi-year horizon) budget planning for complex trade promotion programs. 
  • Procure commodities and services for the section, is the section’s administrative representative and office manager, and information systems coordinator for standalone PCs/laptops, diagnose software and hardware problems.  Safeguard Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Act as the agency’s bankcard holder, coordinate the transportation requests for the section, and backup for Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) administrative duties as needed.
  • Supervises one office’s driver cum clerk.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, accounting, or finance, and at least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or budget work is required.

 OR

  • A minimum 2 years of full-time post-secondary study at college or university, or other equivalent post-secondary education, and at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or budget work is required.
  • Must have fluent, strong English oral and writing skills.
  • Must be able to work independently to formulate financial plans in an extremely diverse and rapidly changing budget environment.
  • Must be able to identify potential financial problems and provide sound advice.
  • Must exercise good interpersonal skills to facilitate liaison and cooperation within the Mission.
  • Must be competent with MS Office suite and various software programs.
