The Straits Times is looking for an experienced business journalist for its bureau in Malaysia. Reporting to the Foreign Editor, the role calls for reporting on Malaysia’s biggest companies, business trends and economy. You should have at least five years' experience and be abreast with key national and regional developments that impact the corporate scene in Malaysia.

You must be able to:

• Break stories, get exclusive interviews, write up spot news, analyses and features
• Generate simple multimedia content like videos and podcasts 
• Have a good network of contacts
• Work independently, with minimal supervision
• Work with other bureaus and desks on big projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to write clean copy
• Skilled at developing own stories
• Knowledge of Malaysia and the region
• Fluency in Malay and/or Chinese, apart from English
