Content Marketing Editor (Chinese Language)

Job Description

 

We are looking for a Content Marketing Editor who has a strong command of the Chinese language. The right person for the job is passionate about creating engaging content, from text-based articles in both digital and print, to multiformat content campaigns involving video, audio and social media.

You’ve got to understand what makes content interesting – and you must be able to create compelling content that fits seamlessly alongside editorial content across platforms while meeting the client’s brief.

Working with a team of project editors and an army of contributors, you must have the ability to manage all the moving parts to bring a campaign to life. The job requires pitching, planning, project management, client management, and exceptional editing and writing skills.

Must play well with others.

Core Duties

        Project manage stories, campaigns, projects through their life cycles, assigning and editing a range of stories, working with an internal team of writers and pool of freelancers

        Work collaboratively with the team to craft and refine ideas for stories, series, concepts, themes; creating digital content that’s relevant to the audience

        Lead client pitches

        Ensure content is produced to brief at highest quality; and evangelises use of in-house style guides

        Write, edit, proofread and improve content; optimising copy and headlines for digital and social media according to best SEO practices

        Cooperate and liaise with clients, sales teams, writers, designers, illustrators, etc

        Build a high-quality pool of contributors

        Comply with media law and ethical guidelines


Job Requirements

        Minimum 2 years in an editor-level capacity or at least 6 years as a writer, with demonstrated excellence in content creation, including online publishing.

        Minimum 2 years writing/editing business-related content pieces, with strong interest and understanding in property and banking sectors

        Familiarity with SPH Media’s Chinese platforms – from Lianhe Zaobao and Shin Min Daily News to Nuyou and Icon – is essential.

        Excellent command of the Chinese English language, fluent in both spoken and written English

        Experience in both editorial and sponsored content would be a bonus

        Proven familiarity with SEO and social media best practices, a bonus

        Detail-oriented and a skilled multitasker who can meet aggressive deadlines within budget requirements

        Excellent communication skills to work well with colleagues and clients
