SPH Content Lab is looking for a Content Marketing Senior Writer. The right person for the job is passionate about creating engaging content, from text-based articles in both digital and print to multiformat content involving video, audio and social media.

You’ve got to understand what makes a story fundamentally interesting – and you must be able to create compelling work that fits seamlessly alongside editorial content across platforms, while meeting the client’s brief. Plus, you have a knack of selling that story on social media in a way that connects and resonates with the audience.

Working with contributors, you own the ability to manage all the moving parts needed to bring stories to life. The job requires planning, project management, client management, and exceptional writing skills.

Must play well with others.

Core Duties

• Write, edit, proofread content; optimising copy and headlines for digital and social media according to best SEO practices
• Work collaboratively with Content leads to craft and refine ideas for stories, series, concepts, themes; creating digital content that’s relevant to the audience
• Project manage stories through their life cycles from concept to execution; assign and edit a range of stories and working with a pool of freelancers 
• Ensure content is produced to brief at highest quality; adhering to in-house style guides
• Adept at composing pithy, on-brand posts, blurbs and messages for social media; ability to translate paid content to feel native to the different platforms on which they are published
• Cooperate and liaise with clients, sales teams, writers, designers, illustrators, etc
• Comply with media law and ethical guidelines

• Minimum 4 years demonstrated excellence in content creation, including digital and social media platforms. Must have experience in editorial and sponsored content 
• Excellent command of the English language
• Proven familiarity with SEO and social media best practices
• Familiarity with analytics and a track record of creating viral content, a plus 
• Understanding of social media trends across platforms
• Detail-oriented and a gift for multitasking to meet aggressive deadlines within budget requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with both internal team and external pool of freelancers 
• Experience with content management systems such as Wordpress and Drupal, a plus
