A newspaper for the local Malay community, Berita Harian was established on July 1, 1957. It presents news and issues from home, the region and the world, featuring a wide spectrum of topics from sports to politics and religion. Other highlights include Malay culture and tradition, arts and heritage, family, hobbies and leisure. Berita Harian also provides a platform for the Malay community to voice their views on issues that concern them. It is a paper that speaks with authority and understands the needs of the Malay community.

As a Digital Artist, you are required to work with the editorial team to develop visual content using technical art skills like design, photography, illustration, layouts, typography, animation, interactive media and info-graphics. You need to collaborate with the team to determine the core idea of a project and design accordingly. The ultimate aim is to increase readability and facilitate translation of complex ideas visually.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in relevant course in Visual Communications
• Able to articulate ideas visually
• Proficient on Apple Macintosh and PC platforms.
• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite design software, 3-D software or equivalent
• Manage projects from start to end (i.e. brainstorming concepts, light copywriting, organizing data and information)
• Coding skills to produce interactive infographics will be advantageous
