Job Description
The Enterprise Architect is primarily responsible for ensuring the technology landscape is aligned with the strategic, operational and tactical goals of SPH. Advanced problem solving and transdisciplinary thinking skills are required to manage solutions and integrations across programmes. The enterprise architecture strategy is to be implemented in collaboration with extended domain teams; design of the architectures shall be delivered, leveraging on knowledge exchange. Cadence would also include architecture reviews with stakeholders.

 

The Job 
  • Provide guidance in establishing architecture policies, standards, processes and platform to drive scalability, support strategic plans while contributing to overall IT strategies.
  • Ensure IT operations teams have appropriate architecture frameworks that govern project architecture and design while ensuring consistency in design, reducing risks and resolving design issues.
  • Execute the governance elements of architecture review, documents and decisions management.
  • Provide direction and advise on organization-wide technology change requests in addition to working closely with the local technology team on design approvals of solution, service and vendor selections.
  • Work with product and technology teams to ensure designs are in line with the EA frameworks, providing design authority and delivery.
  • Partner with business in the delivery of solutions and results through technology enhancements, development and implementation.
  • Understand the impact of technology and the technology landscape of SPH, adapt architectural models and frameworks to identify key relationships and gaps between business objectives, processes and systems.
  • Undertake research and analysis to capture current state architecture and identify future trends, thereafter develop recommendations for shared application and architecture to reduce costs and facilitate information flow.

Position Deliverables 

  • Provide cross project architectural governance that includes identifying relevant strategies, policies and roadmaps
  • Manage risks related to Technology and information assets, removing (any) conflict of interest in decision making on projects
  • Guide Technology decisions toward consistency across SPH via the definition and development of technology roadmaps.
  • Initiate major technology enhancement programs to generate values and efficiency for services offered by the Technology Group.

Job Requirements

Requirements 
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline.
    Familiar and trained in EA Framework (e.g. TOGAF), additional certifications for IT service management (e.g. ITIL) or business analysis (e.g. CBAP) desirable.
  • Eight or more years in the IT field with experience in managing projects through the full system development life cycle.
  • At least 3 years or more of proven business experience in consulting, strategy and advisory related functions from professional consulting or System Integrator companies
  • Candidates without the business experience but possess track record of delivering enterprise architecture via specialised tools (e.g. MEGA HOPEX, Avolution ABACUS, etc.) will be considered as well.
  • Candidates from functions delivering enterprise architecture, governance services and architecture strategy advisory will be advantageous. Other functional experience in IT infrastructure, licensing, IT support and development desirable.
  • Ability to develop future state models and plans, an independent natural who adapts models and articulates diagram linkages with documentation; those who can further support with transition architectures desirable.
  • Familiar in modern technology stack such as cloud, microservices, dockers, kubernetes, CI/CD, test automation etc.

Essential Attributes 

  • Understanding of the EA management tools, methodologies and processes.
    In-depth understanding of IT products and services market and its trends.
  • Strong negotiation skills for service level definition, organisational skills for a cross cultural environment.
  • Knows about and understands financial management, tender specifications and contracts.
