Job Description

This position performs scheduled and unscheduled electrical preventive maintenance and repair work to all mission buildings and facilities including residential owned and leased properties.  

Main Responsibilities:

  • Repair malfunctioning electrical systems and ensure that all tasks are completed in accordance with applicable codes and manufacturers’ recommendations.
  • Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
  • Monitor and inspect generator equipment to detect problems.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting, adjusting, and troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure reliable operation and uninterrupted electrical current to critical facilities.
  • Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Escort local contractors at the facilities and respond to emergency calls during off-duty hours when required.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required and/or completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with a concentration in electrical principles and applications is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and components experience as an electrical apprentice or installer is required.
  • Limited working proficiency of oral and written English communication skills.
  • Good oral and written Chinese or Malay or Tamil communication skill is required when dealing with local contractors.
  • Must possess communication and interpersonal skills to answer queries from end-users.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team, work under pressure and a tight schedule.
  • Must have a valid Singapore issued Class 3 driver's license.
