Reporting directly to the Head of Data, this is a senior role within Singapore Press Holdings.

You will lead the department that serves as the centre of excellence for data science across all of SPH's media divisions. In this role, you will help the newsrooms, sales and marketing divisions, and media subsidiaries harness data and analytics to improve customer experiences, drive growth and transform the business. You'll provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to our data science teams, and have strong commercial understanding to serve as their link to the rest of the business including senior management.

• At least five years' leadership experience in a production machine learning environment. Experience in managing technical managers is a bonus.
• Experience in growing and scaling machine learning teams
• Preferred candidates will have demonstrable experience in owning cloud-native machine learning systems over a period of time (ML APIs, handling model drift, leveraging feature stores, data lineage, sampling at scale, online learning)
• Cross-domain experience in developing and deploying data and analytics solutions (Audience Segmentation, Econometrics, Recommendation Systems, NLP, A/B Testing Platforms)
• Able to understand the business context and craft high impact machine learning use-cases
• Strong fundamental technical expertise in Machine Learning (Linear/Non-Linear models, Opinionated Frequentist/Bayesian, Deep Learning, Embedding spaces, Time-Series)
• Resourceful and able to manage multiple complex and time-sensitive projects simultaneously
• Strong communication skills and able to work well with a wide range of stakeholders 
• An advanced university degree in Artificial Intelligence, Statistical Analysis, Mathematics, Quantitative Research or related fields is preferred though not essential. Production Machine Learning experience in lieu is more than acceptable.
