HR ASSISTANT (USDH SPECIALIST LIAISON)

Job Description

Position administers the procedural and documentary requirements of the U.S. Direct Hire (USDH) personnel programs for U.S. Embassies Singapore and Brunei.  Incumbent provides front line client services to USDH employees and family members from various sections and agencies.  Incumbent is a primary contact for USDH HR issues and is an advisor to Management in Singapore and Brunei in the absence of the American Regional HR Officer (RHRO).  Position reports to the RHRO.


Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or Law AND at least 3 years progressively responsible HR work experience is required; minimum 2 years of HR work experience must be with an Embassy or other International Organization; OR

Successful completion of at least 2 years of full-time post-secondary education at college or university, AND at least 5 years progressively responsible HR work experience is required; minimum 4 years of HR work experience must be with an Embassy or other International Organization.

  • Must have fluent, strong English oral and writing skills.
  • Must be able to exercise sound judgement in interpreting HR regulations and procedures.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion in the handling of sensitive information or situations.
  • Must have a pleasant personality, tact, diplomacy and possess excellent customer service skills in dealing with different levels of staff including handling difficult customers.   
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and their supervisors.
  • Possess good office management skills and be proficient in MS Office software programs and SharePoint.
