The Chinese Media Group Newsroom Digital is seeking an experienced creative storyteller who loves brilliant infographics and data visualisations.

Adopting strong information design practices, the designer will collaborate with a team of newsroom expertise to produce graphics that engage and communicate aesthetically to increase understandability at a glance in visual journalism.

Responsibilities

• Create original visual appealing graphics that users get the crux of the story (as a way of digesting information) on digital platforms, including social media.
• Design compelling visual narratives from textual information while emphasizing clarity and lucidity in digital content.
• Tease out the meanings in narrative that effectively communicates the story.
• Combine good typography and design practices to create engaging informationc search-optimised graphics and data visualisations
• Engage readers with information graphics and data visualisations: charts, diagrams, maps, graphics and design.

• Recognised qualifications in Design / Visual Communications / related fields will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in creating infographics, communications, or related field. Portfolio to be included for assessment.
• Possess excellent understanding of visual design principles, style guidelines, design processes, and best practices of infographic presentations.
• Proven ability in producing compelling and creative visual journalism or data story.
• Good understanding and practice of core graphic design principles
• Experience in interactive or animated inforgraphic be an added bonus
• Maturity, professionalism, positive attitude, and self-motivation
