This position performs general maintenance work at the Embassy building, including residential owned and leased properties.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled or preventive maintenance and minor repair work on the plumbing system and fixtures, general welding and masonry work.
• Assist workers from other trades in the completion of maintenance and repair tasks.
• Respond to off-duty emergency calls and provide routine inspection on various systems and assemblies.
• Order and maintain supply, record and compile data, forms, logs and report.
• Escort local contractors when required.

Requirements:

1. Completion of secondary school and/or completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with specialization in the plumbing and general construction fields.
2. At least 2 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of plumbing and commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical heating, refrigeration and ventilation systems is required.
3. Limited working proficiency of oral and written English communication skills.
4. Good oral Chinese or Malay or Tamil communication skill is required when dealing with local contractors.
5. Must be able to identify problems or dangers, report issues and provide solution.
6. Must be able to work as part of a team, work under pressure and a tight schedule.
