We are looking for a strategic planner to join our robust Strategy team within Integrated Marketing division in SPH focusing on media and advertising. You will be involved in helping the division design a path to growth and profitability in an established pioneer media company that owns multiple media platforms.

 

The role of the Strategic Planning Assistant Manager is to derive insights from internal and external data to help identify key opportunities and develop scenario analysis and action plans.

 

We do expect you to be well-versed in both digital and non-digital media channels across the world of TV, print, digital, radio, out-of-home, and other touch-points. You must like both the art and science of media; and can work with numbers and data to derive great strategies and stories. The Job

The position is a strategy role supporting advertising sales at SPH.  Key scope includes supporting SPH, integrated marketing division (IMD) to develop, evolve and/or design a path to growth and profitability amidst competition and constant change.  

Responsibilities include :-

  • Gathering and analyzing industry information and internal business plans to spot opportunities and identify action plans
  • Track competitive trends, develop scenario analysis
  • Develop analysis into presentations; with presentation to senior management
  • Participate in ideation and brainstorming with Sales, product teams, newsroom and external vendors/partners to develop partnerships or media directions with the goal of business growth

Job Requirements

This role will require the individual to have:  

  • Degree in Marketing or Advertising
  • At least 3 to 4 years of relevant working experience
  • Strong media knowledge across online and offline media
  • Good media planning capabilities and ability to provide evaluation and strategy based on insights (Consumer, Media, Competitive status etc)  
  • Understands marketing and advertising principles with focus on customers, markets and technologies will be a plus
  • Ability to conduct desk-top research where necessary to understand market landscape
  • Ability to work on several projects at the same time, often with different product owners.
  • Ability to liaise with multiple parties across SPH such as Product Innovation & Pricing, Newsroom & Sales
  • Knowledge of Nielsen Media Index, Adquest and/or Radio Adviser/ eRam and ComScore will be a plus
  • Good command of MS Office including Excel, Power point and Word
  • Strong number sense and meticulous in data details will be key in succeeding in this role
