MINDEF/SAF in the mainstream media, online platforms and other emerging/notable platforms and genres, as well as creating and maintaining a repository of research portfolios to facilitate information campaign planning. You also develop and enhance methods to measure the effectiveness of the MINDEF Communications Organisation’s (MCO) messaging efforts so that they remain relevant, targeted and effective. Beyond generating long-cycle information trends to support MCO’s plans and publicity efforts, you also prepare periodic analysis reports for milestone MINDEF/SAF events. Additionally, you support research efforts to develop an in-depth understanding of key target audiences. Your challenge lies in being perceptive and judicious in deciphering relevant data in an increasingly-saturated and rapidly-evolving information environment.
You must have a tertiary qualification in social sciences or mass communication. You must have an active interest in Singapore’s political, defence and security developments as well as current affairs. You will need to have an acute awareness of the regional and international media environment, and how it can be leveraged to the benefit of MINDEF/SAF and its interests. You must also possess a strong command of spoken and written English. Having prior experience in the fields of media or marketing research, and/or proficiency in a vernacular language, will be advantageous. Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
