Achieve sales and profitability targets within cost budgets, in particular through aggressive growth in sales of electronic databases, eBooks and journals
Set regional sales strategy, planning to maximize revenue from existing key markets while building sales in less developed ones
Build and manage the regional sales team
Strategic business management (pipeline management, country and customer development)
Proactive relationship-management and support of local sales agencies and distributors
Input into product development and marketing plans for the region
Job Requirements
Significant senior sales experience and a proven track record of success within the publishing or information industries in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly with electronic databases, journals and eBooks
Specific knowledge of the institutional market and good contacts with key customers in the region would be a distinct advantage
Experience of managing international/remote sales teams and partners
Demonstrable track record in originating and implementing market development plans
Excellent analytical and communication skills as well as strong negotiation skills
Fluency in English is essential
Knowledge of one or more major Asian language (Chinese, Japanese) would be an advantage. Need to liaise with Chinese and/or Japanese speaking associates / clients
