Job Description

Group Marketing Division is responsible for developing and executing effective marketing initiatives for SPH Media. With established brands under our stewardship, the priority for the SEO Specialist is to expand the reach of our brands’ digital presence through effective data-driven solutions. As an SEO expert, you will provide not only guidance and share best practices across SPH Media, but also oversee and manage as a webmaster. 


This is also a hands-on role where you will perform and manage all SEO activities to improve SERP ranking and presentation. This ideal candidate will require collaboration and stakeholder management, a solid understanding of digital marketing performance metrics, and a proactive spirit.


Roles & responsibilities:  :

  • Develop SEO strategy with ongoing SEO optimization and establish an SEO reporting structure for all SPH Media brands. 
  • Develop link building strategies to improve SEO rankings for target keywords and increase organic traffic growth
  • Monitor / analyse organic traffic performance, and provide keyword ranking and keyword competitiveness analysis of key websites with actionable insights regularly
  • Perform ongoing keyword research including discovery and expansion, prioritisation and optimisation to generate relevant content topics
  • Work with marketing teams to develop writing/editing guidelines and implement SEO best practices  
  • Work with vendor / Tech team for ongoing back-end maintenance and front-end optimizations for page speed
  • Manage and maintain SPH Media website, and constantly seek to innovate web experience through a mobile-first mindset, providing suggestions, feedback, and thoughts on UX/UI using analytics 

Job Requirements

  • A university degree
  • 3 - 5 years experience in SEO with excellent working knowledge of search engine optimization algorithms, link building, principles and best practices 
  • Working knowledge of new tools in digital experience and customer experience, along with established tools such as Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Webmaster tools etc.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages, such as CSS or HTML
  • Experience with SEO tools (SEM Rush, BrightEdge, Moz) is a plus 
  • Passion for UX/UI innovation
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision while meeting expectations and collaborating within a team
  • Experience in working in a cross-functional capacity within a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex large-scale concepts clearly and simply
  • Working knowledge of web design principles, best practices, and content management platforms
