As a Sub-Editor for The Business Times, you will fact check, plug information holes, and turn reporters’ copy into tight, clear and readable stories. You will be required to write headlines, captions and lay out pages that will draw readers into a story. Creative flair would also come into play as you would be required to design pages for the The Business Times and/or related supplements and magazines.
As the paper is an integrated print-digital publication, the sub-editor’s role also involves editing and uploading stories for the paper’s online and mobile editions. Other duties include curating content from various sources to populate the paper’s print, web and mobile editions. And this also means, that the work hours may be irregular and require you to start and end later than other colleagues.
