1. Prepare curriculum plans in time for the group and communicate these plans to the teaching team.

2. Plan, prepare and implement activities and lessons which are age appropriate, according to the level, skill and social development of the group of children served.

3. Supervise and interact with the children in all areas of the programmed, outdoors and during field trips away from the programme.

4. Maintain an environment that helps each child to have a positive experience throughout their learning years.

5. Treat all children with dignity and respect and allow for individual differences. Provide an atmosphere of acceptance and caring for each child and show as much individual attention as possible to each child.

6. Be familiar with and adhere to the programmed policies, health and safety regulations and emergency procedures and be ready to implement these if necessary.

Requirements:

Technical Competencies:

- Assistant Teacher: Diploma in Early Childhood / Child Psychology & Early Childhood or

- Teacher: Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood / Psychology / Education or any other relevant discipline

Core Competencies:

- Able to communicate with clients’ family members and caregivers of various races and religions

- Able to work in an inter-disciplinary team that includes social workers, therapists and other teaching colleagues
