Associate Art Director

The Associate Art Director is expected to help increase the profile and brand visibility of the title across all its platforms - from print and website to its social media channels and events.

The Associate Art Director will report in to the Senior Art Director, with equal input from Editors.

The Role

• Develop concept, design, layout and release of assigned pages/projects across print and digital. This includes print layouts, marketing collaterals, GIFs, video and other multi-media assets
• Source for photos, illustrations and music that help communicate a page’s / project’s visual message more effectively
• Conceptualise, art direct and/or style photography shoots
• Maintain proper administrative controls to ensure all deadlines/release dates are met
• Be responsible for post-creative production follow through
• Participate in presentation meetings and assist in pitches to prospective clients
• Assist Art Director with projects timeline and the development of the magazine’s design
• Working seamlessly with the production and pre-press teams

• Must have knowledge of typography, layout, colour, and visual communication, and an appreciation for fashion, beauty and lifestyle aesthetics
• Proficient in Indesign, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite (this includes Premiere Pro, After Effects and Illustrator).
• Experienced in visualising, art directing and styling fashion, watches & jewellery and beauty product shoots
• Detail-oriented self-starters who can easily multitask and understand project management stages
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Good presentational and communication skills
• Strong eye for visuals and attention to details
• Over 3 years’ experience in print and digital design
